Karley is an extremely talented pianist, and a very patient teacher, always taking time to explain those areas I don’t always comprehend so quickly. Karley makes sure to teach not only music theory, but also classical pieces, and hymns. Basically, giving the student an overall musical experience/education.

“I began taking lessons from my mom when I was a child. I learned the basics but soon began playing partly by ear. I knew how to read notes, but it was difficult, because my brain always wanted to convert to playing by ear.
As an adult serving with my husband on the mission field, it suddenly fell to me to provide the music for the congregational singing, and I realized how out of practice I was. I needed a memory refresher, and I needed to learn how to put my playing by ear completely to the side in order to be able to read notes.

“When I was expecting our first child I had an opportunity to take 6 months of piano lessons, which ended with the birth of our daughter. With the addition of each child, piano playing became a thing of the past for me, although my love for music continued. When we moved to Africa we found a piano teacher who began to instruct most of our children. Their lessons were embedded in my memory. Later, our move to Australia allowed our last 2 kids to continue to develop their abilities on the keyboard.
